We love using our Paw Balm on our dogs -- and we are proud to use natural ingredients that are lick-friendly and pet safe. Here's some information on the ingredients we use in our Paw Balm.
Beeswax is a wonderful natural ingredient that forms a protective barrier which helps protect the skin from harsh environmental conditions, while also holding in moisture and reducing dryness. Beeswax has a light, sweet aroma. Unlike ingredients made from petroleum, beeswax doesn’t “suffocate” the skin, it allows the skin to breathe.
Almond Oil is a common natural ingredient in natural skin care products because it it readily absorbed by the skin, and it aides in the treatment of skin irritations. It's a mild, hypoallergenic oil that is full of Vitamin E and Vitamin A.
Grapeseed Oil is often found in skin care products because it's believed to assist in skin repair and has antiseptic as well as mildly astringent properties. Grapeseed oil speeds the healing of skin irritations and abrasions, and has soothing effects on the skin.
Coconut Oil has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties. It is a great oil to use as a moisturizer, and can help the condition of skin and fur.
Goldenseal Root
Goldenseal Root is an herb that contains the chemical berberine. It has antiseptic, anti-imflammatory, astringent, and antiparasitic properties when applied topically.
Stinging Nettles are plants that are often viewed as pests because of their fine hair that is painful and stings to the touch. However, nettles have many medicinal properties. When used as an essential oil, nettles are astringent, anti-inflammatory, and can be used to combat seasonal allergies.
Vitamin E is a nutrient and an antioxidant, and it helps neutralize free radicals, which can damage skin over time. Vitamin E is also a moisturizer, and can be used to hydrate and protect the skin.
