"The dog walk is dedicated time spent with your dog, and it’s quite literally about the journey. So it’s a way that you experience a bond with your dog day after day. If we could do anything to streamline the process or make it more convenient, then we were really excited about doing that. That’s what we set out to do." - Jen Fox
Who follows Tori Mistick and her Wear Wag Repeat account on Instagram?? I found Tori a few months ago and instantly was smitten with her enthusiasm and her goofy chocolate labs, Burt and Lucy. I love how she incorporates them into her daily routines (and takes super cute pictures while doing it, too!).
I contacted Tori to see if she wanted to talk to me about what it's like finding local manufacturers for pet products. Here at Bumblebee, one of our core values is supporting our local community. We have been very careful about who we choose to work with to make our products, and it's for a variety of reasons -- obviously, we want to create a product that is high quality, and that will withstand the daily abuse that it gets when in a household that includes dogs. Our stuff takes a beating, and we want to be sure that it holds up and lasts for a long time!
In addition to the obvious requirement of quality, we also decided that we wanted to do our small part in helping our local economy. We've written more about that HERE, but it's a huge part of why we do what we do.
In this podcast episode with Tori, I (co-founder Jen Fox) talk about what it was like finding local manufacturers, and we dive into experiencing burnout, delegating, and talking about our dogs. Enjoy!
